Robert Heatherington grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, where he lived his entire life. From a young age, he was involved in church, but his true engagement didn’t begin until his teenage years. After getting saved and called to preach in 2009 he completed 3.5 years of Bible college. Throughout his journey, he has seen God use him in various ways, including building bus routes as a Bus Worker and Bus Captain.
Pastor Heatherington met his wife, Esther Heatherington, at church when he was serving as a Youth Worker. Mrs. Heatherington grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, and attended church as a Bus Kid. She also became a bus worker there, teaching kids and loving on them. When she was 17, she moved down to Anchorage and immediately got involved in a bus route at the church where Brother Robert was attending. Shortly there after they started dating and a little over a year later they got married. Together, they have been involved in two other church plants here in Anchorage. Most recently, God used them to grow a youth group from just 7 teens to over 40 in less than two years. Mrs. Heatherington also has over 10 years of experience with children in child care and development. They have 4 Children Taylor, Caleb, Emily, & Joshua.
In 2025 they felt God's calling to start Liberty Baptist Church, they have a deep heart for God and for the people of Anchorage. Their greatest desire is for people to follow God, not man, and to lift HIM (God) up.
